A few weeks ago, my fiancé and I took an afternoon drive down to Middleburg, VA.  Middleburg is a friendly, quaint tourist town with a little something for everyone. Good eats, beautiful scenery, shops brimming with knick knacks, horse country, and oodles of southern charm.

Our main objective was to dine at the Red Fox Inn, a colonial bed and breakfast/restaurant that boasts delicious, classic southern fare. First, we strolled around to take in the views and work up an appetite. Here are few of the things we saw along the way.

After lunch, we took a drive through horse country. So gorgeous and relaxing.

On our way back to D.C., we stopped at this quirky, British tea shop that mainly sold tea pots and British junk food. Needless to say, we stocked up on Bounty and Double Decker candy bars and other “puddings.”

If you’re ever in the area, give Middleburg a try. Definitely take time to stop in at the Red Fox Inn for lunch or dinner (or to stay overnight!). The food is amazing (peanut soup, crab cakes, strawberry salad, sweet potato fries, and some of the best, fresh cheeses you ever did taste) and the service is even better.
