Farm Living

May 1, 2011

My fiancé and I have been enjoying yet another peaceful weekend at the family farm. This time hasn’t been the most restful as we’ve had a lot of wedding details to go over, but it has been a good time nonetheless.

Somehow, no matter how busy we get, we manage to find time to walk the fields and take in the beauty of the country.

It’s the little things that that excite me most.

Yesterday, we drove out to the swamps for a  change of scenery.

This moody marsh was full of mystery and intrigue.

Then, we put on our exploring caps and rode around for awhile. Check out this pecan grove we happened by.

We couldn’t let the weekend pass without saying hello to Gem. He’s an old boy.

But he still appreciates a good head rub.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend! Hope it’s a good one!

I am so jealous. My boyfriend and I have dreams of moving to the country and getting some chickens :) I would LOVE to be able to grow all of my own fruits and veggies and herbs. Your pictures just intensify my desire to get out of the city!

I know exactly how you feel! When I’m on the farm, I truly wish I could stay forever and live that simple, laid back lifestyle. Maybe one day our dreams will come true!

Thank you, Natalie! I took the shots in full sun so they would be super bright.

The first word that comes to mind is “relaxing”. Captured beautifully :) Glad you had a nice weekend!
