This weekend, my boyfriend and I planted our very own herb gardens and tomato plants. We got up early and headed to Home Depot and loaded up on potting soil, gardening gloves, planters and plants. For our garden (and I use this term loosely seeing as we live in the city with no hope of a real garden) we chose dill, pineapple mint, oregano, sweet basil, rosemary, and english thyme…and 2 tomato plants.
All that planting worked up a sweat so we decided to make refreshing, spring smoothies. We combined fresh mango, frozen raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, yogurt, a splash of orange juice and a handful of raw spinach in the blender. The smoothies packed a tangy, sweet, vitamin packed punch and revived our wilted spirits! yum!
