Though I am ashamed to admit it, I really enjoy popping open a Pillsbury can and baking up some fresh, hot cinnamon rolls drenched in sugary icing (though I draw the line at prepackaged cinnamon rolls). I told you guys I’m not a baker. So, if I want a hot, sticky, sugary cinnamon bun, who else can I depend on but the doughboy himself? Now, I don’t indulge often, but once in awhile, preferably on a lazy weekend morning, a girl needs a cinnamon bun in her life. Although I love eating these sweet treats, I’m often left sugar shocked and comatose afterwards. And I usually have a stomach ache as well. Blech.
So, I was delighted to find Bella’s recent version of homemade, do-it-yourself, not out of a can, cinnamon rolls. The recipe instructions were simple enough (so simple that even I had trouble messing it up!) and didn’t take long to make. This version uses very little sugar and subs in spelt/whole wheat flour for part of all purpouse flour. The result was a tasty success! No stomach ache and sugar melt down.

So glad you liked them!!! Mmm…I need to make cinnamon rolls again soon…
Sweet!
I finally made my own a few months ago, too, and they’re SO worth it! I made a cooking light recipe that called for ww flour and mashed potatoes – they were amazing.
WOW! That is all I can say. I want one right now! Hopefully I have the motivation to make these soon!
Wow! Those look out of control amazing! I bookmarked that recipe for sure.
