Did you eat your weight in orange creamsicles as a kid? I did. Loved those things.
It seems odd but, something about ice cream and orange just works. You can’t deny it.
I don’t eat creamsicles as often these days, but thought it would be fun to create a really simple homemade version. These would be ideal for a summer barbecue, birthday party, or any kid-friendly event. They’re not only easy to make, but tasty and look super cute on orange popsicle sticks.
Ingredients: (makes 4 creamsicles)
1 can orange cream soda (or orange juice)
4 Tablespoons vanilla ice cream
1 tsp orange zest (optional)
popsicle molds
Directions: Whisk about half of the soda and the orange zest together. Pour just a drizzle of the soda mixture into each mold. Next, thumb the ice cream into the center of each mold and pour the rest of the soda over top until each mold is filled. Freeze and serve.
Feel free to get creative with this recipe. You could certainly use any flavored juice or cola. I personally think a “coke float” popsicle would be delicious!

I don’t think I’ve ever had a creamsicle – but I’m definitely craving one now!
Oh, you must try one!
These sound great!
I used to adore orange and rootbeer creamsicles as a kid.
Ooooh, rootbeer- great idea!
Is that a Zoku you’re using to make those?? I think I need to get myself one of those.
No, it’s an old school popsicle mold that you actually have to put in the freezer. I want one of those fancy ones though!
