I love brownies and if you read this blog with any frequency you know that I LOVE chocolate (so does Jessica)! So, the other night, I decided to make up a batch of ooey gooey yummy brownies! I wanted to make something special and decided to recreate the chopotle cinnamon chocolates I had at ACKC- the best chocolate shop/cocoa bar in D.C. A few months back, my boyf and I sampled some hot and spicy delicious chocolates that really made us feel the burn-in a good way! So, in order to recreate our new found favorite chocolates, I opted for brownies from scratch (for the most part) by following a simple recipe from Ghiradelli. I made up the traditional recipe as called for and then added about 3 tsp of chipotle pepper powder, a few dashes of cinnamon and about 1/2 a bar of chopped60% dark ghiradelli chocolate to the brownie batter. I was nervous that it wouldn’t work well with the brownies, but I must say it was fabulous. I think this would be an excellent way to easily spice up even your average boxed brownie mix. We served the brownies with Haagen Das Five Vanilla Bean ice cream to douse the flames a bit. We felt the burn and we liked it!
I just realized that I have no pics to share of the brownies. We ate them too fast!
