Bon Appetit Renewal

September 17, 2009

So, it’s that time of year. You know, the time when a woman’s gotta decide whether to renew her magazine subscription to Bon Appetit -that woman being me of course. So here’s the thing, as many of you know, I’m a vegetarian and I have noticed that Bon Appetit doesn’t feature many veggie friendly recipes. In fact, as you may recall, many recent covers have featured recipes which showcase large chunks of meat, that I do not find appetizing. I also have to admit that some of the meat intensive recipes seem like a cop out to me since it’s a lot easier to come up with a recipe that appeals to the taste buds when it features a piece of juicy, tender, saucy meat. But, this does not appeal to me so I’m thinking of cancelling. What do you all think? To renew or not to renew? That is the question.

Do you subscribe to Cooking Light? They have aimed to add more veggie recipes, just a thought.

I went through the same thing with Cooking Light a couple of years back… then i became obsessed with Vegetarian Times, and I’ve never gone back!

if you’re not getting much out of it, I would say don’t renew.

are some of their recipes available online? If you can still search there for recipes, I would do that. Plus you can always look at them in stores to see if there are some recipes you want to make and just buy THOSE editions.
