Tea, please.

January 7, 2009

I have never been that into tea until my boyfriend brought good tea-making to light. I know that tea is insanely good for you, but I just couldn’t get it right. Whenever I made a cup of tea, I would just boil the water, add the tea bag and keep it there for who knows how long. Now I know better!

We use the ingenious products from Adagio teas. First, to heat the water, we use the utiliTEA”tea kettle.” The kettle does not need to be put on the stove, it just needs to be plugged in. The kettle has 3 settings and sets the perfect temperature for each type of tea- green, white, and red/black. All you have to do is press a button and in a minute or less, the water is at the perfect temperature for your cup of tea.
Next, you pour the water into this nifty tea pot. All you have to do is place the tea leaves in the container and steep for the correct amount of minutes. Green is usually three, red is generally five. Then, you place the pot on top of a mug and the tea pours right into it! The tea leaves do NOT come into the mug, no matter how small, which is a big plus.
Then, you have your perfect cup of tea! I can’t tell you how much more I’m drinking tea. The process is so much easier and the quality of the tea is a million times better. Also, I feel better about myself because all tea is very healthy and contain lots of antioxidants, especially rooibos tea. Rooibos or red bush tea contains antioxidants and has been said to help digestion and respiratory problems.
The tea pot is only $19 at adagio.com and you can choose from samples of loose leaf tea to try! Also, try teavana for some excellent tea, my favorite right now is rooibos chai!
this is rooibos tropica. yum.
