The smarter burger

As I’ve stated many times before, I have significantly reduced my red-meat intake to about once per month. As a result of this, when I have beef, I purchase free-range grass fed lean ground beef. Not only is it a greater source of Omegas but I feel BETTER about eating the beef knowing that the beef isn’t pumped with hormones, drugs, etc. Also, I think serving size is important. While I used a small serving of beef, smaller than the size of my palm, I added spice and flavor through using fresh toppings.


A few weeks ago, I decided to jazz up my burger with some special toppings. I don’t know why I hadn’t thought of this before. I used a thick slab of Wholly Guacamole which I purchased at the store a few weeks ago. This guac is AWESOME!!! If you haven’t tried it yet- you must. You can find it in the refrigerated section and while it has the creamy taste of avocado, it has a spicy edge because the avocados are blended with jalepeno puree. Yum! I can definitely see this as a go-to condiment.


I also tried wholly guac with Jalepeno Food should taste good chips and I couldn’t get enough. Wholly guac is definitely one of my new favorite finds!

I made burgers on Monday and specifically used grass-fed beef. A pound cost $7.99 which I wasn’t happy about, but they tasted good and I was happier with the way the cows were raised.

this whole meal looks amazing!!!! your burger looks perfect, nice job! i esp love the guac addition. ive been on a major avocado kick lately. i love the 100 cal packs from wholly guac too, perfect to grab and go!
