Jennifer and I were sent samples from Oh Nuts and these nuts were awesome. We got cranberry pecans, brazil nuts, and sliced blanched almonds. The prices are very reasonable- about $6 per pound, much cheaper than many nuts available in the stores. Plus, they have a wonderful variety! Also, don’t forget that you should store nuts in the pantry for only a short time- nuts and seeds get rancid quickly and I usually store mine in the freezer- they don’t “freeze” like normal food items because once you take them out of the freezer they are ready to be used and don’t require any thaw time.
The cranberry pecans were nicely spiced, not too sweet like normal candied nuts, with the delicate flavor of cranberries! These were a delicious addition to my bowl of oatbran!
I also love sliced blanched almonds- they are a perfect addition to cereals, oats, desserts, and yogurt. They also add a crunchy element to a fresh bowl of fruit.
Brazil nuts are the BEST. If you haven’t tried these, you must. Not only are they tasty, but the value of these nuts cannot be underestimated. Brazil nuts are an excellent source of selenium that can help prevent cellular damage from free radicals which in turn reduces the risk of development of cancer and heart disease. Enjoy!
