When I stopped by my neighborhood organic store, I found these Weil bars by Nature’s Path and I had to give them a try. I usually buy Lara bars, but I sometimes find the dates flavor a little overpowering.
I tried the Chia Razz flavor and it was great! Not only was the flavor pleasantly fruity, but I liked that the bar contained a combination of apples, raspberries, raisins and dates. Also, it contains chia seeds! As Heather eats Almond Butter raved, chia seeds are an ancient food that was used by the Aztecs. Not only do the chia seeds contain lots of fiber, but its also believed that eating chia seeds can slow the conversion of carbohydates into sugar.
Either way, I found the Weil’s bars a refreshing change from my usual lara bar choice. I also tried the Goji Moji flavor, but it didn’t excite me as much as the Chia Razz- something was a little off with the flavor. I will still try the other Weil’s bar flavors as I come across them.
Each bar has about 180 calories. The Chia Razz bar contains 5 grams of fiber. Also, the bar only contains fruit, not added sugar, yay!
