Tis the Season (Florida Part 2)

June 20, 2009

As I noted in my earlier post, I spent time with my mom in Orlando, Florida last weekend. We had a fabulous time eating, drinking, shopping and lounging by the pool (of course!). But, you want to hear about the food, so here goes!

We had lunch at another of my mom’s fave local rstaurants, Seasons 52. Have you heard of it? Well, I must say, I’m a HUGE fan! Not only is the food fabulous, but the service is always impeccable.

Now, on to the food! We had lunch, so we ate light- salads and flat bread. I had a delightful, zesty, spinach salad topped with blue cheese, pine nuts, fresh raspberries and a light vinaigrette. It was divine. The cheese and the raspberries were wonderful compliments and left my palate satisfied. My mom had the greek salad topped with tomato, cucumber, kalamata olives, and feta cheese. I tried a bite and loved all the flavors. It was definintely what you would expect from a greek salad, very delicious.

Next, we had flatbread. It was dee-lish! Flatbread is basically pizza that is so flat, it’s almost paper thin and brittle. Ours was topped with mozzerella, tomato and fresh basil. It was simple and satisfying. It was the highlight of the meal and gave it some substance. Yum!

Finally, it was time for dessert! The desserts at Seasons 52 are so unique. They are basically, small portions that are like tiny samples so you can choose a couple to try. My mom and I shared 4 which was probably about the same as having 1 full-sized dessert each or having 2 and splitting them. We tried the key lime pie, the mango cheesecake, caramel macchiatto cake and a dark chocolate mousse cake. Each dessert was heaven.

That all looks great. I’ve seen other posts about this restaurant. I might go to Orlando next winter and I want to try it. I love their desserts!

That flatbread looks incredible. Basil, tomato, and mozzarella is one of the best combos, especially in summer! And mango cheesecake sounds fantastic :D
