Food Rules by Michael Pollan

by Jennifer on March 15, 2010

If you haven’t picked up Food Rules, An Eater’s Manual, I highly recommend it. Michael Pollan, author of Omnivore’s Dilemma and In Defense of Food, recently published this fine pocket-sized book. The text is divided into three parts (What should I eat? What kind of food should I eat? and How should I eat?) with clever foodie vignettes on each page, offering advice and education about food. Titles like “Avoid high fructose corn syrup,” “Eat when hungry, not when bored,” and “The whiter the bread, the sooner you’ll be dead” suggest a taste of what you can expect from Food Rules. It’s a fun, easy, light read that gives sage advice about eating right.
