A Bridal Celebration

August 29, 2011

This weekend, despite the threatening wind and rain from mean old Irene, I celebrated my upcoming nuptials with some of my best ladies.

My sister and longtime friends came from all over the country to throw me a bridal shower at Tabaq Bistro, one of my favorite brunch spots in D.C.

Before the guests arrived, we primed the tables with colorful fabrics for a bright, cheerful, and welcoming atmosphere.

We coordinated the table cloth to the shower invitations and added playful yellow and white accents. Check out the M & Ms.

As the guests arrived, we warmed our lips with spicy bloody marys and bubbly mimosas.

Then, we feasted.

There were so many tasty menu options to choose from. Have I mentioned how much I love Tabaq?

Next, it was time for games and gifts. Thank you ladies for all the new cookware! I can’t wait to put it to good use.

For dessert, we had these gorgeous little treats from Georgetown Cupcake.

They were the sweetest things I’ve ever tasted (or seen).

Thank you ladies for a wonderful weekend and an unforgettable shower! Love you all!

Everything looks just perfect. I LOVE the yellow theme, and am seriously crushing on that chevron table covering :)

Jen @ Keepitsimplefoods August 30, 2011 at 2:58 pm

Thanks, Rachel! The table cloth was actually just fabric I found on Amazon.com and cut to make into a covering. Glad you like the pics! I felt we needed a cheery, yellow theme after all that rain!
