While I may not share my daily eats often, I decided that this weekend’s eats and treats were among my faves.
In honor of Brandi- I had AB&J oats! I used Maranatha AB and cranberry butter from TJ’s- it was soooo good! It is especially good with a few tablespoons of wheatberries stirred in. My new favorite breakfast, thanks Brandi!

Now, you may not know this about me, but I LOVE to food shop. It seriously is one of my favorite things to do and Whole Foods is obviously my #1 place to visit because I always find something new! Here are some great essentials that I like to buy at Whole Foods: Amy’s meals (great selection), the dirty dozen produce (apples, potatoes, celery, bell peppers, grapes), bulk grains and beans, special oils (I just picked up unrefined coconut oil) and non-dairy yogurts: coconut milk yogurt. Even though I went at 8 AM, I still got to pick up my favorite salad for lunch. A mix of romaine, fresh veggies, VEGAN dumplings (so good), couscous, and more. Nothing beats the whole foods salad bar, nothing!

Below is my new find from Whole Foods. These spanish tortas are made with flour, EVOO, sprinkling of sugar, and anise seeds. It’s the perfect sweet crispy treat with your afternoon tea. I’m obsessed. Also, they are only 160 calories each- a great portion sized treat.

And, of course, a night wouldn’t be complete without my favorite weekend meal- black bean dip with tomatoes, cheddar cheese, and scallions over brown rice. Make it!

yay for ab&j oats!!! So good
One of my favorite ways to start the day
What brand of vegan dumplings are those? They look really good. I love So Delicious Coconut Milk Yogurt! They are such a godsend for soy-intolerant people like me. And I wish I could get those tortas around here. I can’t believe they’re made with EVOO, instead of partially hydrogenated junk. How great is that?!

I’m not sure about the brand of the vegan dumplings- I’m pretty sure that it is a whole foods creation! I’m also a big fan of the coconut milk products, I’m really trying to transition dairy out of my life slowly and the first thing to go was yogurt, I really wish they had more flavors though!
I too am obsessed with the Spanish Tortas at Whole Foods!
My favorite way to eat them is w/coffee in the morning or w/tea in the afternoon! YUM!
i love food shopping too and whole foods is my mecca. i wasn’t crazy about the controversy with the owner/his health reform views, but well….i couldn’t stay away
