Ciao Bella

February 11, 2009

Hello Beautiful! Allow me to introduce you to the creme de la creme of frozen deliciousness. Please meet my new friend Ciao Bella. She is tangy, tart, sweet, and smooth. Her flavors are fresh, bold, clean and unique. She offers variety, like cabernet wine, blood orange, key lime and graham cracker, and grapefruit campari. She truly is a novelty of the frozen food section. You won’t find anything like her…

Ok, so I’ve recently discovered and sampled Ciao Bella sorbets and gelatos. They are really something special. The flavors are imaginitive, keeping tastebuds on their toes. The sorbets come in pint sizes and are perfect for 1 or 2 persons. The best part is that they are relatively low calorie- approximately 200-250 calories for an entire pint…and that ain’t bad. They use simple, natural ingredients, including real fruit and no preservatives, HOWEVER, these products do contain refined sugars and corn syrup. The website uses the term “natural” to describe the product, but I think the interpretation is a bit loose considering the fact that corn syrup and refined sugars are hardly found in nature.
But, for me, this product in moderation is absolutly worth it. I did write in to the website to post a review and recommend the use of natural sweetners and you can too!

Until then, Ciao Bella!
